Taking a stroll around the streets of Raduil, you’ll find many delights of typical rural Bulgarian village. But beware! There’s a surprise waiting for you, as you might come face-to-face with the Raduil famous bear on the side walk pavement – a full size wooden sculpture standing 8 feet tall, and accompanied by his bear cub beside. The sculptures are created by the owner, and you may see other wooden animal sculptures around the village and area too. If you are lucky, you may even bump into the creator hard at work on his next project with his chain-saw & chisel. The bear represents the wildlife that lives nearby up in the forests of the Rila mountains. Don’t worry, the real bears almost never come to the village to visit.
Thanks for your blog, nice to read. Do not stop.
